First-year and transfer students
Spring Orientation and Registration (SOAR) is a time to prepare you for what many agree are the best years of your life.
Register for fall classes, speak with EMU faculty and staff, tour the campus and ask questions, review academic requirements, and meet other new students coming to EMU (maybe even your future roommate).

Meals are free for students already admitted to EMU. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend SOAR with you. (Parents may purchase meal tickets in advance.)

8:00-8:30 - Breakfast and check-in
8:30-9:15 Morning session: Intro to
Global Village Curriculum, registration instructions
9:30 Registration for classes begins (students only)
9:30–12 SOAR options:
• Financial assistance/student accounts
• Information fair
• Intro to cross-cultural program
• ID cards made
• University Bookstore open
• See residence halls
• Campus tour
10:30-12 Lunch
