Alumni Stories

The Value of an EMU Education

For most, the opportunity to safely and affordably spread your wings and choose a vocation comes along only once in life.

At EMU we go the extra mile to ensure you have that chance; 98% of students receive financial assistance, with the average aid package totalling $17,350.

What Can You Expect?

The one-on-one relationship between student and professor, the support of a tight-knit Christian community, and the strong focus on academics and shared values results in amazing alumni, changing the world one by one.

There are currently EMU grads living in more than 90 countries around the globe, and more than 55% of recent grads are employed in the medical and education fields.

Amazing Alumni

During the past five years 95 percent of education majors (some years, more) were employed upon graduation. And a recent pass rate for the state licensing exam was 100 percent, compared with an average of 98 percent for the state.

85 percent of EMU graduates who applied to medical school in the past five years were accepted (compared to a national average of 39 percent). Acceptance rate for all health sciences - veterinary school, dental, etc. - is even higher.

Similarly, a record number of nursing grads pass their board exams on the first try.

Exciting New Programs

EMU's new and highly popular Visual and Communication Arts major offers study in art, art education, communication, digital media and photography. Recent graduates like Benjamin Myers '05 are already making names for themselves; Myers, for example, is a photojournalist based in Washington, D.C.
