Earthkeepers' mission at EMU is to act in and around the EMU community to encourage, simplify, and implement environmentally friendly practices such as recycling, composting, reducing waste, and monitoring water quality in the Harrisonburg area.

Just this year Earthkeepers has started composting, water quality testing, and now recycling programs on campus using largely student volunteer help. These programs will continue as long as this club, the student body, and the administration of EMU lends a helping hand toward making EMU and the surrounding community effective keepers of our Earth.
Earthkeepers club also participates in many other events and activities, such as hiking trips, field trips, guest speakers, and in the Spring, a week long Earthkeepers organized activity called "Food and Farming Week." During this week, students are able to learn about and participate in farming practices and issues that are important today.
