The University Fund
Gifts to the University Fund, Seminary Annual Fund, and the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding play an essential role in the life of EMU.

Contributions to the University Fund during the 2007-08 fiscal year totaled $1.856-million, a record high for EMU and an increase of five percent over last year's total! Our Advancement team is interested in engaging EMU alumni who have not yet joined our family of donors. Our current giving rate among alumni approximates 30%. This compares very favorably with our peer institutions, yet it is important for our students that we grow this to a more robust level in the next few years.

• You bring excellent students -- and future leaders -- to the university by providing academic scholarships.

• You encourage prospective students to consider how EMU and EMS can make a difference in their lives.

• You help the university hire and retain talented and committed faculty who inspire students through word and example.

• You provide high-tech lab equipment, library books, commentaries and field trips for students in programs from business to the arts.

• You allow students and professors to read online journals, use electronic databases and get computerized information from around the world.

You nurture students
• You help students grow spiritually and intellectually in a setting where faith and learning are combined.

• You bring outstanding speakers to campus who challenge students to a wider vision and deeper commitment.

• You help students grow through activities such as music, drama, sports and service-learning projects in the Harrisonburg community and beyond.
