Foreign Film Series
Welcome to the new forum board for Foreign Film Series 2006. We are registering individual student participants in the Iranian, American, and Vietnamese classes that are part of this virtual exchange. We have changed three aspects of the post-film dialogues from our pattern last year.
First, students this term are to post their "best answer" replies to the films "as a class" and not as individuals or small pods. Second, there is no specific question posed by the instructors. Instead, students may take the discussion in whatever direction they deem most helpful and revealing. Third, we ask that all parts of the exchange try their hardest to post within the limits given for each forum. This is so we all can follow the discussion without major delays in between posts. If a campus knows that it cannot post for whatever reason, please let the rest of us know in advance.
Between several course linkages, participation of many community members, and students simply interested in viewing quality foreign films on the Vietnamese, Iranian, and American campuses, our weekly attendance for the films ranged upwards of 400 viewers. Other campuses are welcome to join our unique approach to film screening and dialogue. Please contact Dan Wessner at EMU (dan.wessner@emu.edu; 540-432-4467)
