Calendar for 2009

The IEP serves persons who seek entry to EMU and other universities and colleges or who wish to improve English language skills for employment purposes. Up to three levels of instruction are offered as needed.

Summer Session 2009 May 4 to July 24 *Payable at Registration: Tuition $5960 Room and Board $2130 Books $200 TOTAL COST $8290 March 15 -- Application deadline May 1 -- Orientation and placement test

Fall Semester 2009 August 31 to December 18 *Payable at Registration: Tuition $5960 Room and Board $3275 Books $200 TOTAL COST $9435 June 15 -- Application deadline August 31 -- Orientation and placement test

Transportation from the Airport

Pick-up service is provided at student's cost. Arrange flights to arrive at Dulles International Airport, Washington, D.C., Charlottesville (Virginia) Regional Airport, or Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (Weyers Cave, Virginia). Avoid flights into Washington Reagan National Airport. Pick-up costs:

• D.C. $120
• Charlottesville $70
• Shenandoah Valley Regional (no charge)

Students needing to arrive earlier than dormitories are open should inform us so we may make special arrangements for accommodations. These fees are tentative.

Other Items

• There may be additional fees for specific planned activities based on costs of the activities.
• The $50 application fee is deducted from the first semester's tuition charges.
• Bring funds in U.S. dollars in the form of travelers checks, certified bank checks, Western Union, or MASTERCARD, DISCOVER and AMERICAN EXPRESS are accepted. For wiring moneys, ask for instructions.
• Show proof of medical insurance coverage or be prepared to purchase EMU's student health insurance at $785 for 12 months' coverage, (2008 rate-subject to change)
