Latino Heritage Month at EMU

See what's on the schedule for Latino Heritage Month, September 12 - October 15

Listen to Natalie Bonilla, president of the Latino Student Alliance, speak at chapel on “The Different Shades of Our Cultures”

The perspective that you bring is unlike that of anyone else because you are you. At EMU, a small Christian liberal arts college dedicated to Anabaptist and Mennonite values of peacebuilding and service, we value this and provide a variety of leadership opportunities and programs that highlight diversity, stimulate dialogue and build relationships.

Our office encourages the entire community to better understand and appreciate their own culture and the cultures of others from different ethnic heritages.

What we offer ...

Multicultural Services offers AHANA (African/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander and Native American) students resources, activities and opportunities that celebrate their heritage and connect them with the larger EMU community. Our undergraduate Community Program Assistants work hard to bring events to the school and new life to the program.

Organizations include ...

Some organizations of particular interest include Black Student Union, Latino Student Alliance (LSA) , Future Leaders of Equality and Diversity, Gospel Choir, International Student Organization, and Alpha Omega Steppers.

Programs include ...

Annual celebrations of Latino Heritage Month, Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, and African American History Month!

Through our office's connection with local resources and mentoring agencies, AHANA students will be empowered to succeed academically, socially and spiritually.
